#1- The one where I have my faith restored by an old man

by whateverpeoplesayiamthatswhatimnot @ 24.03.2008 - 22:28:23

Today I realised why people can have faith in fellow human beings. Yes, that sounds extreme and it is, but I believe it's the little things that make life worth the effort and this moment was so sweet I think it worthy of recording.
One old man in the residential home I currently (sadly) work in, has had a stroke and can only use one arm. He was eating a yogurt earlier (and having use of only one arm as you can imagine was making a little mess and had split some down his chin). At meal times he sits next to 2 other men and when one of them saw he was getting in a mess he took this guy's spoon and caught the yogurt off his chin for him. It was such a sweet moment, makes you realise other people can be nice, even when they reach their nineties! I hope as and when I get old I'm 'with it' enough to remember my manners and be nice like that....
